Tea and Coffee was served in the hall as the teams waited for the results. Brian Miller won the event with a time of 59 minutes and Karen Wight was in second place with a time of 61 minutes. Pool Competition The Pool Competition was held at the Crawford Arms Hotel on Thursday night. Benjy Smith was the winner and Simon Kerr was the runner-up. Gala Quiz Bad news at the Gala Quiz. Crawford drew upon all its resources of intelligence to try and ensure that a local team won. Despite the huge effort this was not to be the case and The Luddites from Leadhills won the event, beating The Queen Mother's Court by answering the sudden death question. Ah well, maybe next year.

Gala Day Bowls Gala DayThe Gala Day Parade assembled at the the Heatherghyll and waited on the arrival of the Judges, after their tour of the Decorated Houses, to judge the Floats and the Fancy Dress. Judging completed, the Parade departed on it's way through the village towards the field. Proceedings continued down at the field with the Crowning of the Queen starting off the events. This was followed by the presentation of the prizes and gifts for the Judges and Carriage Driver. After that it was on to the fun and games. The three inflatables proved popular as usual and were busy throughout the day. The Medieval Swordsmen entertained the crowd with a fine display of their skills and their Archery and Crossbow firing was well patronised.
